Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Payment Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and future-ready payment systems for a rapidly growing FinTech organization.
In this strategic role, you will collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to architect end-to-end payment solutions, encompassing card processing, digital wallets, real-time payments, and cross-border transaction systems.
The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on experience designing enterprise-grade payment infrastructures, integrating Open Banking, API ecosystems, and managing third-party payment providers to deliver seamless financial experiences at scale.
Experience
Minimum 8+ years of experience in payment systems, solution architecture, or FinTech platform design.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee digital payment platform design, ensuring scalability and compliance.
- Integrate real-time payment rails including Faster Payments, SEPA, SWIFT, and ACH.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver API-first payment solutions.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with PCI DSS, PSD2, AML, and data security standards.
- Develop and maintain solution blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration frameworks.
- Evaluate, select, and manage third-party payment partners (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Worldpay).
- Drive performance, availability, and security across payment system architectures.
- Troubleshoot and optimize architecture-level challenges in distributed systems.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in FinTech, blockchain, and digital payments innovation.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of digital payment ecosystems and transaction architectures.
- Proven expertise in payment gateway integration, tokenization, and fraud prevention systems.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 20022, EMV, NFC, and 3D Secure protocols.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent ability to document, diagram, and communicate complex solutions to stakeholders.
Desired Skills
- Experience designing real-time payment systems and blockchain-based financial solutions.
- Hands-on coding proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
- TOGAF or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification preferred.
- Knowledge of financial data orchestration, Open Banking, and embedded finance frameworks.
