VP Security Engineering
Reporting Line: Chief Information Security Officer or Chief Technology Officer
Role Overview:
The VP Security Engineering leads the design and execution of security architecture across cloud infrastructure, engineering environments, and development pipelines. The role focuses on embedding security directly into product engineering processes and building scalable security engineering capabilities within high‑growth SaaS environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and scale the security engineering organisation
• Implement DevSecOps practices across engineering teams
• Design secure cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Lead application and product security programs
• Manage vulnerability management programs
• Implement automated security testing and code scanning
• Conduct threat modelling and architecture reviews
• Partner with engineering leaders to embed security in development
Required Experience:
• 10+ years cybersecurity or security engineering experience
• 5+ years leadership experience
• Experience working within SaaS or cloud‑native companies
Education Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field
Certifications Preferred:
CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent
Compensation Guidance (US):
$220,000 – $330,000 base salary + bonus + equity
